The study of the creative arts enables young people to engage with and enjoy exploring expressive forms, ideas, and values. The creative arts provides opportunities to enchant, explore, investigate and respond to the world through making and performing.
In Dance, students will develop knowledge and understanding, skills, values and attitudes in Performing, Composing and Appreciating by engaging with the elements of dance (action dynamics, time, space, relationships and structure) through a range of contexts within a planned and sequential process of teaching and learning. Learning in dance is most effective when learning experiences in performing, composing and appreciating are integrated.
Our program has been created in line with the Board of Studies PDHPE and Creative Arts syllabus covering all outcomes for each education stage. Understanding there is a required proportion of time to cover these syllabus outcomes each week, this program combines the dance strand outcomes from the PDHPE syllabus and Creative Arts syllabus in one class per week.
School teachers are a valuable resource, our program provides the opportunity for teachers to more effectively utilise their time through the engagement of specialised dance teachers that conduct classes on behalf of the school.
dance, the future is bright!
